ITINERARY OF THE BEST TOURS AROUND NAZCA

DAY 1: LIMA - NASCA

Early morning or midday pick up from your hotel and transfer to the bus station (Cruz Del Sur - Cruzero service) and aboard the bus at 7AM or 1:30PM. The bus service is one of the best one in all over Peru. The bus travel takes 6 hours through Pisco, Paracas bay, Ica and finally arrives to Nazca.
Welcome reception at the bus station in Nazca, assistant and transfer to the selected hotel.

DAY 2: OVER FLIGH NASCA LINES AND LAND TOURS

At 6AM pick up from the hotel and private land guided tour to Chauchilla cemetery, this Pre-Inca cemetery is located 28km on the south of Nazca next of the Chauchilla Valley. Discover the most bizarre and seeing cemetery by the tourist from over the world. Will be the walking tour seen the tombs in the middle of the desert where you can see real mummies and old tombs. The place also offers nice carob trees forest and great coastal sceneries along the way.
After two hours of complete guide tour to Chauchilla cemetery we return to Nazca and drop to airport.
Around 9AM fly over the Nazca lines by light Cessna plane (35min): The Nazca lines are located in the desert, a high arid plateau that stretches between Nazca and Palpa on the Pampa (a large flat area of southern Peru). The Nazca lines are geoglyphs and geometric line clearings in the Peruvian desert. The Nazca lines are an enigma. Since their discovery, the Nazca lines have inspired fantastic explanations from ancient gods, a landing strip for returning aliens, a celestial calendar created by the ancient civilization, used for rituals probably related to astronomy, or clans who made up the population and to determine through ritual their economic functions held up by reciprocity and redistribution, or a map of underground water supplies. Flying over the area you can marvel looking at the perfect shape of Animal's, flowers, plants, objects, and anthropomorphic figures of colossal proportions made with well-defined lines.
Around 11AM we keep visiting the countryside of Nazca, where we will find ancestral aqueducts of Cantayo, they were constructed more 1900 years ago, with old an impressive underground hydraulic engineering that the Nazca old people new perfectly. Your tour guide will explain how the people of Nazca culture built all these channels and also he will show you surrounding fields to see some crops produced by Nazca people.
Keep driving we jump to the sector of the needles, where we climb small rocky hill and see from the top a huge trapezoid, you will be closer of the genuine Nazca lines drawing on plateau zone located on the base of the Cerro Blanco sand dune (the highest dune in the world).
On the way to Nazca we stop at administrative Nazca site, this place is located just 2km away from Nazca on the slopes of Apra Mountain. This Nazca remains as known Los Paredones, this site was built just before the Inca Empire arrive to this reach valley and conquest the Nazca civilization. Los Paredones was the closer and most protected ceremonial and administrative ruins on that past time.
Finally we visit the Casa Museo of Nazca ceramic, considerate the most finest ceramic of all Peruvian culture, on this place you will be able to learn all process involve in the elaboration of Nazca ceramics. Just on the other side of the street is located a place where are miners working every day in order to extract gold to sell and maintain their families.
Return to the hotel and around 4PM transfer to bus station and travel back to Lima by luxury public bus.
