LIMA - PUERTO MALDONADO JUNGLE - CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU TOUR DISCRIPTION
DAY 1: WELCOME TO PERU
At mentioned time welcoming reception in the airport of Lima and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima (Miraflores or San Isidro).
According your arrival to Peru and if time permits OPTIONAL guided tour of Lima, see tour itinerary

DAY 2: LIMA - TAMBOPATA RESERVE - BOAT TRIP - CLOUDS OF BUTTERFLIES
Morning pick-up from customer hotel (Lima/Cusco) and then transfer to airport and flight to Puerto Maldonado Jungle. After arrival in Puerto Maldonado, welcoming and take a brief tour of the town, before boarding a motorized canoe. During the trip you may see Caimans, clouds of Butterflies, river Turtles and other jungle life. After traveling 3 hours down river, arrive at the lodge located in the Tambopata Wildlife Reserve. You are now deep inside the pristine rain forest. Once settled and after a brief rest, take a short walk to a nearby small lagoon, returning in time to observe the fantastic sunset at "Sunset Point". Once back at the lodge, board a canoe for a short night trip to spot caimans on the riverbanks. After dinner at the lodge, the resident naturalists will brief you on the Amazon. Stay in bungalows with shower and baths availability (L - D).
DAY 3: TAMBOPATA - MACAWS CLAY LICK - WILDLIFE WATCHING
Early morning travel by canoe on the Tambopata river to Bahuaja Sonene national reserve, just in time to see the amazing sunrise, also to see many types of wildlife watching like Deer, Capibaras, Tapir in the deep rainforest. After short trip we will be in the best location to appreciate hundreds of Parakeets, Parrots and Macaws clay, around the springs enjoying their daily diet of salts on the banks of the river. Short hike looking for monkeys. Return to the lodge to have our breakfast, plenty of time to rest.
After lunch will enter walking to observe wildlife, like peccaries, deer, and others, with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys traveling through the forest in search of food. Time permitting, we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat. After dinner relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal jungle sounds. Stay in bungalows with shower and baths availability (B - L - D).
DAY 4: TAMBOPATA - PUERTO MALDONADO - CUSCO
Early morning breakfast before leaving from the lodge and transfer to the airport of Puerto Maldonado and then flight to Cusco.

Today you will stay in the selected hotel of Cusco (B).
DAY 5: CUSCO - SAQSAYHUAMAN FORTRESS - SACRED VALLEY GUIDED TOUR - AGUAS CALIENTES
At 7AM you will be picking up from hotel and starts completely guide tour to the lovely Sacred Valley of the Incas.
This tour includes visit the four ruins surrounding Cusco, places as know Saqsayhuaman fortress, Qenqo, Pukapucara, Tambomachay.
Continue with the guided tour we arrive to Andean native markets and ruins of Pisac and Calca. The tour goes along the Sacred Valley following by lunch in Urubamba town. The last place to visit in this day will be the beautiful Inca village and fortress of Ollantaytambo.
Around 4PM aboard the train to Aguas Calientes, the bottom town of Machu Picchu. If time permit OPTIONAL visit the thermal baths located next of town ($2 USD for entrance). Overnight in a comfortable hotel with private bathroom, hot shower and next day breakfast (B - L).
DAY 6: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU GUIDED TOUR - CUSCO
At 5AM breakfast and half hour later aboard the first tourist bus to drop us to Machu Picchu main door, and to be the first visitors Inside Machu Picchu archaeological site you will have complete guided tour of this spectacular and mystical place. The guided tour include walk through the different section such as the urban sector, the agriculture sector, and the religions zone was used by the Inca Culture. According with the time and your feeling you can coordinating with the tour guide climb to Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain) this climbing take around 1 hour to get the summit from where you can have the best panoramic view for photos of all Machu Picchu and of deep green canyon surrounding the sacred Inca City. At according time descend to Machu Picchu and then free time to explorer on your own. At mentioned time aboard a tourist bus to descend to Aguas Calientes town. Lunch will be in the town of Machu Picchu and around 4PM we will aboard the backpacker train to Ollantaytambo (Sacred Valley) and from here we take a private van to drop us to the hotel in Cusco (B - L).
DAY 7: CUSCO – LIMA
Morning free for personal activities or optional guided tour.
At 1PM pick from the hotel and transfer to airport and flight to Lima, and end of tour (B).

ADVICE FOR TRAVELERS
The best time to visit Peru/Machu Picchu is between April and July, just before of the high tourist season. The best place to exchange dollars for soles is in the big cities, the are many change office, airports. Credit cards are welcome in most of tourist places. Normal voluntary tipping for tour guides, waiters and other camp staff is 5/10%. For a day or two day trip you will need to bring only a day backpack to carry necessary things, the rest of your items can be stored in the hotels or in our local offices.
