AREQUIPA 4x4 TOUR ITINERARY

The tour begin at 7AM from the lobby of your hotel in Arequipa – If you request the tour also can begin from bus station or airport with additional cost – Firstly we drive to get out of the city and then will be a clear and nice scenery of Arequipa’s countryside as known as “La Campiña Arequipeña” – After 1 hour driving we will find gravel road to take us up to the bottom of Nevado Picchu Picchu – The route map include views of small typical villages as Characato, Mollebaya, Pocsi, Piaca, Tuctunpalla and Chiguata – All those towns are facing to the volcanoes were we drive seeing lot pre-Inca terraces used to produce their own crops as lima beans, beans, potatoes, quinoa, barley, wheat, corn, pumpkins, squash, onion, garlic, kivicha, oregano, and more.

This 4x4 Off-Roading tour in Arequipa takes us to unrecognized places as the Polylepis forest as known as Queñua tree typical from this region of the Andes (3700M) – The forest chain on the bottom of volcan Picchu Picchu and thanks this natural wonder is possible to find different type of Andean birds – If time permitting we can walk through the forest looking for more spectacular natural wonders.
The second part of the trip will be driving through lot ancient terracing and then following abandon road on the slope of volcan Misti – The road around Misti will be more dusty and bumpy making more enjoyable with amazing views of volcanic landscape – The trip ends at hotel around 1PM.

4x4 TOURS DURING THE RAIN SEASON

This excursion is graded EASY for all ages even and even if you don't have experience being in high altitudes - We really recommend to spend one night in Arequipa (2400M) before to do is tour in order to feel better when we drive up 3700M where is the region of Polylepis tree forest - We also advice to wear rain gear during the raining season (Dec. to March) - All participants must be in good health (no asthma, no respiratory disorders, no heart problems, and no blood pressure problems).

ADVICE FOR FUTURE COSTUMERS

This excursion is graded EASY for all ages but high altitude makes hard to brief or walk if you don’t have minimum of acclimatize to altitude and especially if this will be your first time in high altitudes - We really recommend to spend one night in Arequipa before to do is tour in order to feel better when we drive up to 4800M.
- The tour guide and 4x4 are equipped with medical bottle of oxygen and first aid kit in case you require t calm the high sickness.
- All participants should wear trekking shoes suitable for rugged terrain or jogging shoes at least – Also we recommend to bring wind proof jacket even if is not raining – Between April and November is the dry season but still cold even if is very sunny day.
- All participants must be in good health (no asthma, no respiratory disorders, no heart problems, and no blood pressure problems).
